Young Modern

Going by the first single, No. I hate the way they went with Diorama and now they appear to be going down that road again. Neon Ballroom was brilliant and the only album of their's worth having.

I haven't heard the new single. I really liked Diorama compared to their earlier stuff. Can't remember if I have Neon Ballroom or not.

But no, I don't have the new album.

I know what you mean about no riffs. The song just doesn't go anywhere. It's just noise really. It has no structure what so ever.

Neon Ballroom was great though. Such an emotive masterpiece.

In my opinion, Diorama is a masterpiece.
It is fuckin epic man.... Tuna in the Brine is amazing to my ears.
Young Modern is getting some spins outta me so far. He's gone pretty laid back... Even says in the making of doco that he has writtin a few Roy Orbison and George Harrisson sounding songs.... I like it

I really cant believe there is a thread about silverchair that isn't ful of piss takes.

Their evolution is pretty extreme, but also pretty fair....Frogstomp was written when they were VERY young, and Freak Show they were still teens....anything they do ten years later would obviously be quite different.

Straight Lines bored the fuck out of me at first and it annoyed me because I was hoping for a lot from them, but I hear it A LOT on radio at work, and it did grow on me, and now I don't mind it.

that Greatest View song was like he was teasing us "Look, I wrote this really shit song and... here in the middle I'll throw in an amazing riff to show you I can still write amazing riffs!" ...
Totally agree with that lol. Great riff.

You'd be surprised about the number of things we've discussed over the years.

Yer, but this is Silverchair, come on!

A thread about hair metal, then one about GnR and one about Silverchair!

Yes....... and??

There's probably been a few Silverchair threads on here throughout the years. Not to mention Robbie Williams, Thirsty Merc, Tania Moran and Christina Aguilera threads too.
What's your point?

I am gonna d/load the album before I go out and spend the dosh, it worked for the last album, got into it and went out and bought it, if I had done that straight off the bat, I would of got the shits on cause I bought a shit album
