If it has been covered, my apologies. Any recommendations along these same lines would be appreciated, and would love to see some of your lists.....I am an older guy who works a lot so I rely on a lot of what I see here for new music so many thanks.

In no order

Aosoth - III
Benighted in Sodom - Reverse Baptism
Haeresiarchs of Dis - In Obsecration of the Seven Darks
Indian - Guiltless
Krallice - Diotima
Loss - Despond
Moon - Caduceus Chalice
Ogen - Black Metal Unbound
Seidr - For Winters Fire
Shining: VII
Tombs - Path of Totality

No order particularly

Obscura-Omnivium (this is my favorite thus far though)
Paul Wardingham-Assimilate Regenerate (probably 2nd favorite)
Xerath-II
Beyond Creation-The Aura
Disma-Beyond The Megalith
Symphony X-Iconoclast
Benighted In Sodom-Reverse Baptism
Septic Flesh-The Great Mass
Wolf-Legions of Bastards
Tyr-The Lay of Thrym
The Black Dahlia Murder-Ritual
Decapitated-Carnival Is Forever
Necros Christos-Doom of the Occult

Shit, too many  With a lot to listen to still....I need to get my hands on the new Exhumed, Scar Symmetry, Pensees Nocturnes, Unearth, Mercenary...etc.

Assaulter - Boundless
Argus - Boldly Stride The Doomed
Bill Callahan - Apocalypse
Burzum - Fallen
Defeater - Empty Days & Sleepless Nights
Orchid - Capricorn
Primordial - Redemption at the Puritan's Hand
Premonition 13 - 13

Protest the Hero - Scurrilous
Ulcerate - The Destroyers of All

Protest the Hero - Scurrilous
Ulcerate - The Destroyers of All

Completely forgot about Ulcerate. Would definitely be in top group.

Haven't had time to process Devin Townsend's new releases but wouldn't be surprised to see them up there too.

I think I was the biggest fan of the first two Krallice albums on this forum, but the one from this year is spotty. Two or three solid tracks, but one song is borderline unlistenable. Borrows way too heavily from Njiqaddha's style, and it's really off-putting.

I would recommend Bones - s/t release for something a bit less publicized. Fun thrashy death with a couple of great moments on their debut album. Intense vocal and drum performances, and they rule live if you get the chance.

I would have gone to that Bones show if I was 21. Great album as well.

My favorites this year go

Argus - Boldly Stride the Doomed
Necros Christos - Doom of the Occult
Blaspherian - Infernal Warriors of Death
Corpsessed - The Dagger and the Chalice
Assaulter - Boundless

Necros Christos-Doom of the Occult
40 Watt Sun- The Inside Room

I have a feeling that Manilla Road - Playground of the Damned will be on that list somewhere when I get it.

Disma - Towards the Megalith
Draconian - A Rose for the Apocalypse
Obscura - Omnivium
Decapitated - Carnival is Forever

Some more - too tired to think atm.

40 Watt Sun
Blut Aus Nord
Burzum
Virus
Dodsengel (even if it was recorded a while ago, DGAF)
Fen
Altar of Plagues
The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble
Necros Christos
Negative Plane

Most of what I've enjoyed this year is old.

In Solitude
Assaulter
Vanhelgd
Necros Christos
Disma
Negative Plane
Witching Hour
Portrait

And as soon as I get my hands on it Cruel Force is likely to make that list very quickly.

This was brought up a few months ago but these lists are always good for those of us who have missed a few releases. My list has only slightly changed:

40 Watt Sun - The Inside Room
Blood Stain Child - Epsilon
Ash Borer - s/t

I had subrosa and blood ceremony on my list last time but ive changed my mind about them. Der Weg Einer Freiheit's ep was also a huge dissapointment and didnt make it onto the list. IMO the best releases are yet to come:

Fleshgod Apocalypse - Agony
Wolves in the Throne Room - Celestial Lineage
Old Silver Key - Tales of Wanderings
Drudkh - tba
Lantlos - Agape

Hopefully Nachtmystium and Wormed will release their new albums this year as well.
