I agree with Jolty. The concert I went to was really great and not jumping around on the stage doesn't make them arrogant.

What did turn me off is the numerous times he would stare at the crowd and just say "You love us don't you?" Even if it was meant to be a joke, I found that annoying.

Maybe it's because it was during Gigantour and they already had done too many shows and simply got bored but the problem is that they were the same way during their tour with DT in 2006.

Mikael Akerfeldt might as well be a stand-up comedian because I think he is one of the funniest bastards I've ever seen on stage.
There was actually a thread once on the Opeth forum about Mike talking and joking too much on stage. Mike actually posted on that one and basically told everyone that he didn't give a fuck and then made a gay joke about himself or something haha. I'll try to post a link for it later.

They are pretty good.. I mean, not the best live act ever.. but the play the songs very well, they have energy and intensity in their shows..! it's a band to be seen, for sure

I saw them during the "Invasione dell'Italia" tour, back in 2003, when they opened the shows for DT...I agree with Nt3N, lots of energy, they were good...and opinions I got from friends who were to more recent concerts confirm that. I can also guess their live expertise must have grown during these years
