Your favorite Blues Guitarist

No one's mentioned Peter Green of the "original" Fleetwood Mac." Before Lindsey Buckingham(another fine guitarist)and the tremendously overrated Stevie Nicks(my opinion) joined the band. Peter played with John Mayall and the Blues Breakers before he formed FM. A fine player in his own right. However, me thinks he was always overshadowed by Clapton. Buddy Whittington is Mayall's guitarist now and he's fuckin' awesome. Mick Taylor also played with Mayall, and then went on to The Stones. Another excellent blue/rock guitarist. See what I mean, there are so many. I could be here all day. Frank's recent "Real Live" from 2004 is an awesome display of his guitar prowess. He opens the concert with his cover of Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile(slight return) That, my friends, takes some stones.!!!

That might be the Marino album my friend had playing the other week it was pretty much all blues and some Hendrix. ?or are you talking Zappa?

I was going to mention Green but dont know much of him other than "Oh Well" which I love. Kenny Wayne Shephard band covered that well. And "Green Manalishi" which of course is pretty much Priests trademark song.

Not crazy about Buckinghams guitar playing, song writting yes.

Mark Kendall of Great White pretty much turned his back to pop metal shreding and did a few great blues tunes toward the end of the era with lots of air. I was in bands that played House of Broken Love and Rock Me... cause I made them... HA !

I meant to ask awhile back - Have you heard Hendrix's instrumental jam of "Born Under a Bad Sign" ? If not find it and get it, trust me.

I've heard everything Hendrix has ever done, that's available through anything recorded. I suggest you explore Peter Green as much as possible. A casual fan album, that you might find appropriate is "The Peter Green Collection." Single cd with 17 tracks that covers his career fairly well. The song "Black Magic Woman" which Santana made famous, is an original Green composition. In case you didn't already know. Peace.

I was checking that out awhile back, someday Ill get it hopefully. That song Oh Well always grabed me but I couldnt figure out for the life of me who it was, than I finally heard a station announce "Fleetwood Mac". Thats when I researched and found he wrote Green manalishi and Black Magic Woman, but had already forgot about BlMajWo. Then of course the dude that sang BMW for Carlos went on to sing and play keys on the first few Journey albums, when Journey was progressive (off topic).

Didnt your momma or your girlfriend ever snatch you up by the ear to get your attention... similiar effect lol
