Your guitar/instrument cables length for stage and for the studio

So i am about to buy some meters of some high end guitar cable and I'd like to solder 2 cables, one for the stage and another one for the recording.

I would say,

for the stage : 5 or 6 meters

for recording : as short as possible and 3 meters is enough for my room.


what would you recommend ?

For live I was definitely not a tone snob so I used 15' cables pretty much all the time.

For studio however I don't go higher than 6' anywhere within the signal. When I reamp the length from reamp unit to head is 1/2' and the balanced cable is 15'.

Anything longer than 20' is pushing it, but under and your good (especially if you're using EMG's, cuz of their bufferred signal)
