Your kick guide lines

Hey dudes.
I was wondering what you guys mostly do on the kick, since I am having some trouble with it. Lately i noticed some filter alot of low to get rid of that boomyness.

But how do you get the kick nice thick and full?
With a nice thick and full kick I am reffering to this :

It's indeed not really boomy, really fits the mix imho.

Any tips ?

You can sidechain to a test tone in the subs but that might rape your mix if you don't do it properly. Don't cut too much sub because it sometimes works nicely, cut quite a bit of your lower mids like 300Hz.

Cut something between 90 and 120hz and all the boomyness is gone. Just give the kick some sub-lows like between 30 and 60hz and you're set!
