your thoughts on the aqua teen hunger force scare in boston

I mean interconnected as in both responsible. You can't deny the governments desire to manipulate, and it has worked evidently.

Thinking the government wants the people to remain scared and paranoid is a conspiracy theory.
Conspiracy theories are for people with too much time and/or money on their hands.
What you're saying has just about as much credibility as scientology.

Well, if you consider the idea to have no merit then so be it.

I do however think the government remains firmly in the pocket of corporations, and they do want people to stay scared. I don't particularly see that as a conspiracy theory.

When you consider what happens then consider what way the Government likes to package it up then it's pretty evident that somewhere along the line the decision is made to manipulate people.

Scared people are inclined to find escapist solution. In a primarily capitalist society, this means via buying more. The government encouraged, the corporations ALWAYS encouraged it. Not a coincidence.

Well true, but its hardly a conspiracy. It's how the damned system here has worked for over 75 years.

Sometimes the ignorance of the people to certain situations is better for the benefit of the country as a whole. It's necessary manipulation and packaging from an able government. The media, though, makes an operation like this impossible to act out.
The paranoia of the people is due to the media's reluctance to not blow everything out of proportion and their humble fight for the right of the people to know every little detail. Thus bringing me back to Jim's immediate point about the American Idol polluted generation of the country. No one gives two shits about politics, they vote through the misguiding information and images the media force feeds them. Less tv, more republicans; it's that simple.

The manipulation of people (which I'm not against, to be fair) only works if the government is a righteous one, which I'm pretty sure the current one is not.

Still a valid one, though. It's difficult to see any of America's foreign policy in the past 50years as anything but short-sighted and self-centred. I think a point exists where one can disregard subjective morals and actually quantify a whole bunch of situations as plainly wrong.

Also, I'm not interested in an argument regarding whether objective morals even exist.

Disallow anyone not between the ages of 25 and 50 from voting.
Seniors are biased towards Democrats and those 18-24 are ignorant and moronic.
Semi-problem semi-solved.

A foreign policy that isn't self-centered is weak by nature.

So, let the republicans ru(i)n it all like Bush eh James? God, you're an ass. neither party is any better then the other, except for the goddamned neocons. Freaks.
