Guitar Interactive‘s Jonathan Graham sat down with Zakk Wylde to discuss all things guitar, including Black Label Society’s brand-new single, “Lord Humungous”, his shows and potential new music with Pantera, memories of Dimebag Darrell, the final Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath show this summer, and much more.

The sold-out Back To The Beginning event will see Black Sabbath perform together for the first time in 20 years, and will see Ozzy – who is battling Parkinson’s Disease – play his own short set before joining Sabbath for his final bow. The event is set for July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, England.

Regarding Ozzy’s final show, Zakk says, “Hopefully Ozz has a blast, he sings great, and then Ozz says, ‘Alright Zakk, let’s fire this machine up again and let’s go out on the road. Hopefully that happens, you know. I mean, Ozz was singing a little bit of ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ when we did the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, he sounded great, so…”

When Jonathan Graham points out that Ozzy’s voice is “still there,” and if you couldn’t see that he has mobility issues you’d never know, Zakk adds, “Yeah, just put him on a throne and have it fly out over the audience, shoot out buckets of water and ham sandwiches and everything like that, make a spectacle out of it.”
