ZZ Top

What I've heard is that Billy is the only one in the band actually playing. That goes for in the studio AND live. I don't know how true that is.

I don't think that is the case with their shows. If you watch live footage of them, the bass and drums are in synch with what you hear which begs the question; If the drummer can mime perfectly in time with the drums, what's the point of having it prerecorded?! He can obviously play them so he may as well do just that!

There are of course loops and electronic rhythms, dating back to their 80's heyday, but there are real drums on there too, I feel.

As for the studio side of things, well who knows what goes on behind closed doors? I bet there are many many bands with guilty secrets in the "who actually played on what" stakes":heh:

Got my tix! Going to the venue itself the tix were $59.50 so I imagine ticketmaster prices must be around $66-67. Got front row in the first section immediately stage left of the main seating area(where the seating starts to fan out so I'm actually five rows deeper than the actual front row in main seating).

Have a good time, you won't be dissapointed!:kickass:

hey, when is the gig?

Would you post a review of it on here please?

I am dying to see ZZ Top live but they aren't touring the UK at present. GGGRRRR!

At least I heard they are filming a live DVD, maybe that will have to do for now!

It was last Sunday for myself.

It was cool and I had a good time but it was kind of short. Frank Beard never looked up from his drum kit ONCE. Flew through 15 songs, no goodbye, no encore, Lights up. (probably less than 1,000 atttending) They were riot altogether though ! I'll try to list the songs tommorow but gotta run for now!

I will say that the show is kind of short, but they play great and they have such cool songs! Frank Beard never looks up that I can remember!
