I recently finished it. It was a good read. A lot of old familiar names. Billy gets a few mentions in there too. I definitely recommend it. Got me to revisit some old hardcore stuff I haven’t listened to in a long time.

Gary's passing strikes me deeply. He was a tremendous influence on my guitar playing at an early age. I will miss his expression through his instrument and his beautiful artistry. This is a sad day...God bless you, Gary.

I have an all tube Carvin XV112 '89 or '90...mint...babied, not abused. It all of a sudden stopped working. It powers on...the lights go on...it hums slightly as if it's getting power, but the tubes never warm up or golw. It has 3 preamp tubes and 4 power amp tubes and none of them warm or glow...

Anyone ever try one? You should go to their website and listen to the sound clips. There are a lot of great artists on there, Guthrie Govan, Frank Gambale, Vinnie Moore, to name a few. Seems they recorded these clips to demo the amps. Nice stuff and they just sound great...

Two musicians I greatly admire are Chris Thile(mandolin) and Jerry Douglas(dobro). These guys transcend any genre of music they may be most associated with...they are just such amazing musical talent and have such mastery of their instruments. I'll think of more.
