Kayo Dot Autumn Tour 2006!!

for September 23, in St. Louis there is a show with improv solo percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani at Lemp Arts Center ( http://www.lemp-arts.org ) with Epicycle and tba, not sure if you could squeeze on that show or not? There is a phone number contact in the Directions page. I will contact Jimmy Vavak, who is the guy that hooked up a show for you last time to see if he knows who specifically is booking for them. there are a few names of contacts on the site above, hope those help. also, here is a site for Tatsuya:

Lemp Arts Center is an all ages DIY bare storefront kind of place where bands play on the floor, there are couches and garage furniture. i haven't been in a while, but i've seen several shows there- Khanate, Dysrhythmia, Bullet Train to Vegas, local bands. if you get a good crowd, the place has a nice vibe.

i'll continue to look around and see what shows are happening, but that seems like a great fit.

and of course if you come here, you will have sleeping quarters, dumb dogs to play with, and bad food.

hey eric, thanks for the offer! we've been talking to them about that and they won't let us jump on, but we're still working on finding another venue! I hope something works out, because we skipped over stl last year.

avi, that'd be awesome! we'd love to! and don't worry, i had a talk with Tom last night and told him that on this tour, he needs to ask our hosts first before he goes into the bathroom for an hour.

did you try contacting Tatsuya directly? i know it wouldn't be first choice, but maybe they'd be more apt to put you on if you did a forbes and/or toby-mia set?
haven't heard back from jimmy yet. if you just want a list of places that might be good, let me know. that was just the best i saw.

i think bill brovold tried to contact tatsuya. mia had been talking to jimmy who said he would take care of a stl show, and he did get us one but it was on the wrong date! now all the other places mia tried won't get back to her. if you had a list of suggestions, that'd be great! but i wonder if it's even too late to get a show - our only option might be like a house show in bloomington or lafayette... :/

ok, here's a list if the house show is a no-go:

Epicycle- who is also playing that Tatsuya show Sept 23rd at Lemp Arts center- is basically a guy named Mark Saric. Mark is a founder/proprieter of Lemp Arts Center, so if you haven't contacted him directly, i'd maybe try that? his email is on that page - maybe they'd be more open to solo performances if they don't want the whole band? not optimal, i know, but..
