Kiko Loureiro is the new Megadeth guitarist?

I was there and Megadeth gave an excellent show. Mustaine was very into it and spoke a lot between the songs. He seemed very pleased to see a big crowd, despite the menacing skies. He was in good shape and quite fine voice, much better than when I saw the saw at the last Gigantour (with Motorhead and Volbeat).

Gotta agree. That show was excellent and Mustaine was really into it. Loureiro was something else.

If they keep playing like this, don't hesitate to go and see them.

Here's an article from Blabbermouth with Adler talking about this show. He exaggerated the crowd. I'd say 40000, not much more.

ANGRA TO REPLACE NEW MEGADETH GUITARIST KIKO LOUREIRO – “HE’S WORKED HIS WAY INTO SOMETHING BIGGER”

In a new interview with Revolver, Angra guitarist and co-founder Rafael Bittencourt revealed that the band will have find a replacement for new Megadeth guitarist Kiko Loureiro.

Bittencourt states about Loureiro: “As a brother-in-life and friend, we're proud of/for him. I think he's worked his way into something bigger from the beginning. He deserves it. He earned it with his hard work."

He continued: "At this moment, heis managing to finish the Secret Garden world tour with us, coupled with the first touring with Megadeth. Soon, that won't be possible, so he will be taking Megadeth as a priority, most probably as his exclusive band. So, since we won't be able to count on having him with us very soon, the solution will be to find a substitute for him."

LAMB OF GOD / MEGADETH DRUMMER CHRIS ADLER IN PRAISE OF GUITARIST KIKO LOUREIRO - "THIS DUDE SPEAKS AN ENTIRE DIFFERENT MUSICAL VOCABULARY THAN ANYBODY I'VE EVER SEEN"

Lamb Of God drummer Chris Adler recently spoke with Ultimate Guitar about recording the forthcoming highly anticipated Megadeth record. He discussed working with Angra guitarist Kiko Loureiro, who was brought in to replace Chris Broderick.

Adler: "Kiko is just on another planet. This dude speaks an entire different musical vocabulary than anybody I've ever seen. The band guys all lived together in a little house and he got there and he was talking to me about this project he just finished and he was over in Japan and blah blah blah. He mentioned he had done a solo record and I was like, 'Oh, that's great, man. I'd love to hear it,' so he gave me a copy."

"I'm looking at the back of it to see who played drums and it's Marco Minnemann and I'm like, 'What is going on? Oh, my god. I'm just with the most elite team of people.' He was such a ripper. He had a guitar in his hand seriously 25 hours a day and constantly playing classical stuff and then he'd rip into jazz stuff. It was all over the place and he's just an incredibly talented guy."
