Good article. Always interesting from a fan's perspective to see how the industry really works.

I was surprised to see the article highlighted someone from my neck of the woods. I've seen Witch Mountain locally twice as an opener. Really enjoyed them.
 
The SXSW one? Yeah that story is excruciating to read. That's how a lot of these DIY bands operate too, and it's why I laugh at people who armchair qb about managers and record labels not being important, because that guy wouldn't have had to go through all of that if he had a team working with him.

Of course, he explicitly says he doesn't want that - and that's totally fine, but then you also have to be willing to put up with shit like that. To me, it sounds unfathomable.
