It's been years since I've used beat detective. I'm on PTHD, without a single phase issue. Sounds pretty good to me and it's super quick to edit. I use it for guitars as well. Sometime vocals, but that gets sketchy.

Another vote for Extreme Isolations... They don't sound that bad... At least not Vic Firth bad.

I picked the new record up and must say, it rocks! Great job on the production. Any details on the guitars? Mostly ITB? How much of the console was used in the video?

When you switch between reference and the "profile", it doesn't sound almost dead on? Keep refining, I'd say. My kemper profiles usually have a difference in the low end, whether it be less or more. Other than that, it's always at least 95%. I've gotten good results with my 5150 set up.

Tama Starclassic Maples here... They sound better than 90% of the bands that come in, to me at least. I figure the heads into the rates.

I have an Orange 2x12 with V30s and a Mesa OS 4x12 with V30s. Totally different sounding cabs. Close miking one speaker, it's night and day. Always hands down, the Mesa sounds better. You can find them cheap if you look hard enough. Welcome to the forums.

I'm sure there are insulation places in your area. Find them and order a few boxes of OC703. I built my traps from floor to ceiling and have a bunch hanging at reflection points. It will be the best money you've ever spent.

For sure. Many times you get to the 4th take and the snare is a step or two lower than what it was. Whoops.

Start from the top... Play 'til he screws up, punch. If they can't cut it... Then I pull, "Just get your ideas down, and I'll take care of it." No complaints so far. I've lost patience for these unprepared musicians.
