    12/8 timing...

You would only call it 4/4 with triplets if there were measures preceding it that defined the main beat as being of equal time to the compound one, only subdivided by two (and it's multiples). If the song starts out with a compound feel, you always just call it 6/8, 12/8 or 9/8 etc. Calling it...

Your take on the next Opeth CD title

There's also a Pat Metheny album called Still Life.

    Ulver?

I've heard 3 distinct sounds from this band. The trashy black metal, the Blake stuff, and some other stuff with classical guitars and wordless vocals. I really love the latter style. Which album would that be?

    12/8 timing...

You wouldn't call it 4/4 with triplets, always just 6/8 or 12/8. All the compound times probably come from their black metal influences.

    Cheesiest/crappiest metal video

I love Manowar's videos. In fact I just love Manowar. They're so fucking funny. Better than Spinaltap!

    Darkthrone info please.

Check out the Darkthrone reviews at www.chedsey.com - I pretty much agree with them. (Even though I don't usually agree with the reviews on that site).

How many albums have Opeth sold?

I sure hope they're selling more than that. They certainly deserve to.

    Blackwater Park

Forgive me, I'm kind of an Opeth newbie. Is Blackwater Park their most recent album or their first album. -I've been told both. I tried to find out through the discography but it's not even there. ? Also, what is it like?

Did you hear about the new matter??

What do you think they'll call it? Nu-matter perhaps?

    Progressive metal...

The only bands I've heard that I'd consider 'progressive metal' are Dream Theater, Opeth, Ved Buens Ende, Symphony X, and maybe Meshuggah, and some of Tool's stuff. Some people call Queensryche, Fates Warning and Shadow Gallery progressive, but they're too normal to be considered prog IMO.
