Totally agree...I would even go that far and say that this has increased during the years, because now you might have more people in the audience that just want to see this "new popular metal band" and don´t give a fuck about Opeth themselves. If you really respect their music, you shut the hell...

^ They will never learn it. @mike´s post: I think he made the same mistake as most people when it comes to music like that, hearing one song briefly doesn´t reveal the band to you. When I first heard PF I was like "err...stop button please", but it got better eveytime I heard it. Anyway...

Opeth will play here in Germany at the Summer Breeze-Festival, and the rest of the line-up is also pretty nice this year.

Damnation for me. Although it has the fewest lyrics of all Opeth-Albums. Might be though that I chose that album simply because of the musical beauty it has, but the lyrics go so damn well with it. I would put MAYH 2nd.

I consider Damnation being the darker one. Deliverance was the first Opeth album I bought (I think in early 2003), and from there it has had a heavy influence on my musical taste and also on my drumming. And I will never get the BTPISIO-hate, although that is only a forum thing I believe.
