Viking mythology and all that goes with it

I won't see the feedback on the paper for a couple of weeks, BUT, we wound up having to give a brief summary of our interviews in front of the class Wednesday night. A couple of students looked a bit shocked, which I fully expected (that's a whole 'nother subject entirely), but others seemed to...

Viking mythology and all that goes with it

I just wanted to post my sincere gratitude to Sleipnir for being an excellent source of insight into Ásatrú as well as being a great person to talk to. I really enjoyed this interview and learned a great deal from it. And I also wish to thank all of you who have posted such good information...

Viking mythology and all that goes with it

I just double checked my schedule since you asked, and I'm glad you did. It is due next Wednesday, I had thought it was due the week after (we do not meet every week and with my other classes distracting me, I've managed to get off track). Ah, well. If someone can offer a bit of time before...

Viking mythology and all that goes with it

It's for a brief paper I have to write in a communications class. Hard copy gets handed to my instructor, handed back to me. No publication, nothing online, etc. The intent is to learn about a religion from someone who follows it, as opposed to just reading about it, as well as how religion...

Viking mythology and all that goes with it

Would any of you long-time/active Asatruar be willing to take part in a brief interview via email or Skype? I am needing to conduct an interview with someone of a “different religious background” than mine (I have no particular faith/belief structure) for a class that I am taking...

"Heavy Metal Satanic Music"- 1980's Talk Show Segment

Sad to say I remember this era and while that talk show host was known for being not exactly genuine, there were a lot of people who held the beliefs ol' Wally was spouting. It was the time of televangelists coming to power politically and the PMRC. Metal was blamed for crime and suicide...

Metal based on Game of Thrones...LOLWUT?

I can't tell you the number of metal songs that started making a hell of a lot more sense when I finally started reading A Song of Ice and Fire last month. I'm on A Storm of Swords now. Utterly and completely addicted. I just saw a list of the "Top Ten" songs based on the series somewhere...

Innosense - For you Khan fanboys out there!

Disclaimer: I'm not quite a Khan fanboy. I think it's a bit difficult to judge production quality via YouTube and through computer speakers myself. :) It sounded pretty good overall, and I can hear a few Khan-like moments with the singer, but it isn't constant. They have potential and I'll...

    <sigh>

There is definitely still a void left by the disappearance of LotFP. It just had the right sort of feel and tone to it for me. I didn't agree with everything nor did I hold it to be infallible, but it was always a really good read.

    Blind Guardian's U.S. setlist

I was standing next to the guy entering that very list into his nifty gadget device...it's spot on. :)

Genesis- Turn it on Again Tour

I got all excited when I'd heard about it, then hope deflated when Gabriel and Hackett weren't going to be a part of it. I like the early Collins-era stuff, but this tour doesn't seem worth my money.
