Explain your hatred for Dimmu Borgir

Ha...this thread is still alive. That's suprising and funny. You did very well my son, better than others...now stop oogling your mother and go outside.

Explain your hatred for Dimmu Borgir

Well said Chasm! I was after musically valid reasons for dislike in this thread. And I respect those musically based descriptions of dislike so far.

Explain your hatred for Dimmu Borgir

fair enough. Hmm...I never even noticed their drums. I guess that's criticism of a sort. Someone like Hellhammer, whether with Mayhem or Arcturus, demands my attention in a good way.

Explain your hatred for Dimmu Borgir

I'm not a big fan myself;I don't care much for their albums but I do actually like their last one, Death Cult Armageddon, has its moments. I've noticed in posts a real animosity towards Dimmu Borgir. I'm not the veteran of metal that many others here are and I was just wondering if the haters...

Just wondering if anyone has any info at all on the upcoming Darkthrone album? I can't find any info using search. :Spin: Thanks

    The Village....

I was really looking forward too. But the reviews were just so bad. Glad I saved my money. So what is the crap twist in the end anyways?

Which item(s) in your record collection do you cherish the most?

Relatively new to metal and really new to vinyl my most cherished are pretty limited. I'd say the recently aquired (non-metal) Zeppelin 200 gram vinyl re-issues are most cherished. I'm starting with the basics, Sabbath's catalogue is next.

A Thread To Inquire About ''Deliverance'' On Vinyl

I was also disappointed it was pic disc only. The whole catalogue deserves the 200 gram vinyl audiophile treatment (and remaster to hybrid SACD while they're at it). It's strange because Mikael is a vinyl freak.

Wilco - A Ghost is Born

It can be listened to online at the Wilco site. http://www.wilcoworld.net/ghost/index.html

Audio quality: REALLY good recordings you have?

That's an interesting recording. It leans a lot on the warm/dark side (which is better than the opposite-bright/thin, IMHO). On a previous half decent system (NAD cd player & integrated amp + PSB speakers) Damage done was really thick and murky, not enjoyable. On my present better/more...

Audio quality: REALLY good recordings you have?

The feat that really impresses me are cymbals sounding like cymbals. Something accomplished easier with vinyl as I am discovering with my new (3 week old) turntable. This might be the first time I'm not hearing tizzy/white noise cymbals. Of course it depends on the recording.

Audio quality: REALLY good recordings you have?

I'll keep those in mind, thanks. Hmmm...that's two votes for Nevermore's DHIADW. At the top of my list. I have EDT,SBD & DCA...gonna have to get PEM. Being sort of new to Darker metal, a lot of bands are my 1st listen and I got the most recent Therion 'Lemuria / Sirius B' and it...

Audio quality: REALLY good recordings you have?

Really? That's strange as I have Dimmu Borgir's 'Death Cult Armageddon' which is a suprisingly average sounding. I found it ironic and frustrating that they wrote very good songs, brought in a symphony orchestra!!!!, spent time on great packaging and then release a thin sounding compressed...

    The Marvel Super Heroes Thread

About 10 years ago I bought a bunch of hardcover reprints (on paper that'll cut ya) of the first years of Marvel. I've 21 volumes but didn't actually get them all. $35 USD each back then. Spidey was my fav, followed by the Fantastic 4. I was a kid :err: Just checked & they're still...

Audio quality: REALLY good recordings you have?

I was just wondering which recordings people have that they consider to be really superior to the average recording? I consider My Dying Bride's 'Songs of Darkness...' a great recording, warm, full and rich. The Opeth combo Deliverance/Damnation were pretty good as were the remastered Celtic...
