Sever The Voices - Old Wounds (reamp/m/ma)

@JeffTD: I wasn’t aware of this Logical Editor function in Cubase: really useful, thanks for sharing! What did you use for cymbals? Possibly Made Of Metal?

I'm mixing some metalcore, wanna hear? Sounds pretty brutal.

Great job Erik! If you don't mind me asking, what samples involved on snare? Any room/reverb on drums? Giuseppe [giubis]

    The Official Metal Month Thread

Finally: http://www.toontrack.com/products.asp?item=161 From what you can hear in the demo it doesn't seem outstading. Nothing really exciting at the moment, IMHO.

Top 5 Mixing Headphones on 200-250$ range?

Ermin, then you have definitely ruled out even the Denon AH-D2000? I've recently owned a pair, used. Maybe because they're alrealdy burned in, but I feel good with them. A bit too bright, I have to admit, but nothing too harsh and abrasive that could compromise the listening or even...

Cool drum video from the Australian band currently in my studio

^ You mean that is not convenient to close-mic big crashes, due to the fact that they come out really well also from spaced pair overheads? So you place the overheads as to get a good sound with the full set, not only cymbals. How do you manage with snare bleed in the OHs when you ride them up...

Cool drum video from the Australian band currently in my studio

So: not so spread overheads (as it seems in the video, due to the fisheye lens) and Auralex behind them. Have you ever think of trying to mic cymbals with close miking? In this case in particular you had a small amount of cymbals (only charly, two crashes, two chinas and a splash). Giuseppe...

Cool drum video from the Australian band currently in my studio

@ RandomAwesome: Very good drum sound, as always. How about your OHs? I can't see them in the video (except the two 'close' on the splash and mini-china, over the second tom). Are they really high or what? Giuseppe [giubis]

    Your latest G.A.S. purchases

I got them in order to use as a reference for mixing bass too, because my room does not allow me to do it accurately. Giuseppe [giubis]

@ crillemannen: Thumbs up for your mixes, I like them. ;) Some questions for you, if you don't mind me asking: - What samples did you use on drums? Commercial or free ones? In wich way do you generally combine samples to obtain the final drum sound (for example, regarding the kick...
