    I need some mellow music

Brendan Perry, Bo Hansson, Eldkvarn, The 3rd and the Mortal, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Current 93, Fields of the Nephilim ("Elizium"), This Empty Flow, In the Woods..., Ulver, Tenhi, Leonard Cohen and Ozric Tentacles are some more or less mellow artists whom I like to listen to while...

Who has the best member title...

Vortex's title is great. Also, Katatonic, your title and signature are excellent choices. "What an eccentric performance!"

    Aliens from outer space?

(First of all, I hate to refer to a previous thread, but I shall do it nevertheless: Satori, I don't know if you read my last message in our conversation, but thank you anyway - I discovered a great stupidity in my deduction. This is all about that, anyway, if you don't know what it is that I am...

    What is your favorite sense?

I reckon I would lose a huge part of my purpose should I fall ever blind, deaf or paralyzed and thus be unable to, for example, draw, compose or move. I think smell would be the least harmful to lose.

Satori will get a kick out of this

OK, I have thought over the matter for a while and have come to the conclusion that I should draw back a little - because of some fumbles I noticed in my thinking and some that you did. Christ, no-one has ever blown holes as big as these into anything I have said. To keep within an irrelevant...

    Metal Scene.. where u live

The metal scene in the capital area of Finland is abundant with bands. To name but a few, both known and unknown: Amorphis, Children of Bodom, Blake, Dewian, Elenium, Throne of Chaos, Thy Serpent, Gloomy Grim, Barathrum, Babylon Whores, Thus Perish (my group), Stormbound, Starlit:Black...

    Rename Opeth albums

This is rather old, but I tend to get a nice little laugh out of it with my friends (who happen to be Opeth fans as well): My arse, your face. They want to be a big rock band and this is an implicit message of their to-be stardom for sure.

When good song titles go bad.........

Maybe you should ask Keith Bosley, the scholar who translated "Kalevala" and "Kanteletar" from Finnish folk tales and poems into English, and did a great job at it. The difficulty may be that the 'Kalevala' poetry measure and syllable stress may seem odd to anyone who has not analyzed it...

Satori will get a kick out of this

OK, as I have been unable to get online for the past few days I am unaware as to how much this has got to do with the recent evolution (sic) of this thread as I have not read all the posts, so if this goes by as outdated, feel free to skip. I seem to have failed to make my point, obviously. I...

Band you woul most like to see live TODAY!

I would not necessarily want to see Opeth live again - yet, since as I saw them earlier this year and no new album has been released since I would prefer to have them do another album before coming to Finland. (ahem.) Black Sabbath. Again! Arcturus performing "La masquerade infernale" at a...

Satori will get a kick out of this

Damn! Now I wish I had kept up with what has been going on on this thread. Some very interesting thoughts have been on display here - you people really are intelligent! Much of what I would have in store to be said here is already on the "Are Opeth religious" thread, so I will keep my message...

    Are Opeth religious???

It is a very common flaw among both those who oppose religion and who stand by religious dogma to take preconceived notions of what god is for granted. In supernaturalist religions we are taught that there is a supreme being in existence who holds command over the earth - or deistically, has...

Apart from Mikael, who is your favorite vocalist?

Christ, how could I forget? Taneli Jarva, Björk, Patti Smith, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Ian Curtis, Suho Superstar, John Lydon, Dani Filth, Tori Amos...

Apart from Mikael, who is your favorite vocalist?

Why, it has to be Ozzy Osbourne, of course! It would be unfair, however, to exalt but one or two to the throne of the greatest vocalists ever. Garm/Tricster G/Christophorus G. Rygg (Ulver/Arcturus), Carl McCoy (Fields of the Nephilim, The Nefilim) Simen Hestnaes (ex-Borknagar/Dimmu...
