I've got a new studio on the way so it's time to get rid some of this gear =)
All prices are shipped to the lower 48 states in the USA. Currently I'm not doing overseas shipping. Any questions just shoot over a PM.
FireFace 800: $1250 shipped - very minor wear. Stayed in my rack with...
I usually don't post here but I know you guys love this little box so I wanted to give you first crack at it.
I just bought a Countryman 85 and I've got a custom-built reamp box so my RedEye can go. I'm also saving up for a Neumann U-87 so I could use the cash. This sat on a rack slider in my...
I've got a boost in front of it, yeah. It definitely cleans up some of the flubbiness. Though I find that it can be beneficial to not run the boost so high on Mark amps since it takes some of the 'chunk' out of your sound. A good example of what I'm talking about is Heathen's Victims of...
Check the mixer in your DAW and see what Kontakt is routed to. Make sure it's not routed to a mono channel or something like that and that it's pointed to the outputs that go to your L/R stereo monitor track.
My room is treated for mixing and everything you said matches up for the listening position. I just so happen to keep my cab in the back of the room since most of my gear is in the front, so things haven't been set up with tracking in mind, only for listening. It slips my mind sometimes that the...
I've got a Quad preamp so it's not a Mark IIc+, but close enough :) The Quad has been a complete beast to get sounding right when tracking. Its 'tone' is excellent, but I find that the overall sonic character is extremely difficult to tame and to get sounding right. When I track my dual rec, I'm...
I've been doing a little experimenting lately and I found some surprising results. I guess I'll rant a bit and leave it here in case anyone needs a tip or two :)
I'm in a decently-sized mixing area but I also use it for tracking. I've got bass trapping at the L/R B/F (and above) reflection...
That's what I was thinking, hence the mention of Cannibal Corpse. As far as I know, their last album or two were really the only ones they tracked to a click with.
I'm curious as to how some of you go about this. From what I can tell, I've enjoyed the human aspect of albums that were tracked 'live' over others that were tracked to a click. Usually it's scratch tracks with the drummer, guitarist and bassist, and then the rest of everything is tracked using...
I'm listening to Carcass - Heartwork on my monitors in the control room and something just crossed my mind.
I read some engineering notes on the album and turns out the cabs were miked using two SM57s, one on the center of a cone, and off to the side on a different cone/speaker. This is...
