    POETS OF THE FALL: Ultraviolet

https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/poets-of-the-fall/2018/thekla-bristol-england-3e9498f.html Jesus, this setlist. Why doesn't money flow from trees? I'm still idly thinking about a one week-trip in spring if I can find a cheap flight like last time...

    POETS OF THE FALL: Ultraviolet

I've listened to every song a couple times on my commute today, but haven't had a chance for a good start-to-finish listen until this evening. That said, I keep clicking back on The Sweet Escape. ----- Updating with the short review from the Unofficial forum on FB: So much funky 80s synth on...

    Oddball band

As one of the vocal minority in question, there were no crickets in my house while I watched a live stream of the announcement, lemme tell ya. I’ve successfully evangelized Poets to a lot of friends over the years, but snobs abound in the PP audience, and this is definitely a WTF band where...

    Top 50 of 2017

I don't DISlike her at all - I've got a few Mandylion/Gathering albums around here, and there are a handful of songs I do really like, but on the whole she just doesn't do much for me... and I really don't like her voice paired with the Cavanaghs for some reason.

    Top 50 of 2017

I was also surprised not to see Pain of Salvation. I was not terribly excited by the Road Salt era, but thought Passing Light was pretty great. I saw Caligula's Horse twice this year, and while they're not totally my bag, they're *interesting*, and I don't mean that in a backhanded compliment...

    Anathema - The Optimist

It's not my *favorite* album, I will say that, but I enjoy it a lot. Approaching it as a soundtrack to an episode of life is what makes it work for me: it's somebody unsuccessfully trying to escape the bullshit in their life, and descending into a bad dream or even a hallucination. It's meant to...

    Anathema - The Optimist

I saw them a couple weeks ago (both fantastic shows), and Vincent confirmed that they are indeed coming back for a more expansive tour of the US in February, after Cruise to the Edge. So if you can't make it to the East Coast/Great Lakes next month, there will be other options next winter.

Teaser 6 - Ghosts. I've been waiting for this one since I heard a recording from a UK show in November.

    Anathema - The Optimist

I'll be at the Baltimore, NYC, and Boston shows. Teasers 2 and 3 are up on the FB page as well. Also - yes, they are planning a much more expansive tour of the US, including the west coast. They do not have dates or cities nailed down yet, although I am guessing it will be early next year...

    Anathema - The Optimist

I'm going to see them in the Netherlands in June - a club show and Midsummer Prog Fest. I'm actually going because it's a belated birthday shindig trip in general, but the shows were conveniently timed. I'm hoping there will be other shows schedule while I'm there, though, because it sounds like...

ARYEON Universe, the best of ARYEON live in Tilburg September 2017

That international airfare sale appears to be over now, fyi.

ARYEON Universe, the best of ARYEON live in Tilburg September 2017

Adding to dcowboys' comment about the international airfare sale (I've seen some amazing deals too, but alas I'm not ready to make plans to go anywhere right now) - make sure you also check places like Düsseldorf, Brussels, and even Eindhoven, because they're all fairly close to Tilburg as well...
