Holy shit. The first time I saw Opeth, it was in 2003, and they played a crappy club with sticky floors. Tickets were $70. Iron Maiden tickets a couple of years back were $170 (or $250 if you wanted better seats). I'd be pretty happy to see Rammstein (and all of their ridiculous pyrotechnics)...

I use an Alphatrack and I love it, but mostly for the transport controls. I thought I'd use it for adjusting volumes and automation, but I realised I'm much too obsessive-compulsive for my track volumes to not sit at regular increments. I can't handle looking at a track whose volume is 1.357 dB...

I love Symphonic Choirs' "ah" instruments. I use them everywhere. What I don't get is how they manage to tote the whole "sing any words in any language" feature and nobody points out when you actually try it out, it sounds like a choir of people with fucking cerebral palsy. I've always found them to be pretty bad at rock (except their rock basses, which are OK) but they're fantastic at ethnic and orchestra stuff. I'd be screwed without Symphonic Orchestra and Ra - I use one or both of them on 99% of the stuff I do.

The amp sims that come included with Cubase are pretty horrible. If we're including sample libraries, then Colossus/Goliath have wonderful samples for everything, except electric guitars. The acoustics are even usable if they're not up-front, but I just can't imagine the electric guitars being...
