Is Hippie the first fretless dude in metal?

That's all played on a fretted G&L. Great tone/chops, though.

Newb has a question for SDG

I'll save SDG some time and grumpiness and help you out-- I actually asked a similar question awhile back. Here's the thread, complete with Steve's very articulate and thorough answer. http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/steve-digiorgio/259886-steve-howd-you-get-buried-human.html

    Killer Band!

I've been stoked on this band for a better part of the year...unfortunately, I'm studying abroad in the UK and have to wait until March 2nd for the record to come out here! Jeroen shreds, as do all of them, and it's a perfect mix of technical styles old and new.

Why famous bassists gave up on Rickenbackers?

Ugh, I need to change my username. To add to what I said above-- couldn't plenty of EQing or using a preamp help? As for your wanting a fretless Ric, why not just score an old one and have a luthier install an ebony fingerboard? Finally, if by "just asked" you meant "recently asked" then one...

Why famous bassists gave up on Rickenbackers?

Steve, you really think even the newer 4003s don't hold up? I got a Jetglo one for my 21st birthday and have yet to try it with a band, but I mean...as I'm sure you're aware, mids and highs for days.

    Strings

If I recall correctly, it was either the Rotosound Swing 77s or 66s (?? on the second one) but yeah.

    Sadus live video 1989

Awesome footage! I love Steve's custom Ric.

I want to introduce you to my new favorite bass player...!

Man, I still need to check him out on the Spheres record. Obscura was cool for the little I heard.

What kind of Bass does everyone have/ why do you think that sadus is not well known?

Steve, did you ever consider playing a fretless Ric? I've heard conflicting reviews of how they sound. I play a 2001 Hamer Standard or a custom 4-string red fretless with a Carvin neck. Need to find a job over this winter break to get the Ric I've been jonesing for.

    Happy B-day SdG

Heya Steve, happy birthday. This board is kinda stagnant but I love you anyway, ahahahh. Come back to Seattle or Baltimore (where I go to school).
