I wouldn't say Novembre is "happy sounding." Overall I think their music is melancholic.

Well, opeth is a prog rock band with death metal influences. they focus on negative things in life in their music. i think "too sad" is not a good way to describe their music.

Try listening to Agalloch and Swallow the Sun. They are the closest bands i've found to Opeth.

Bleak's ending is orgasmic. They must've got it from the effects that Steve Wilson showed them when he was producing Blackwater Park.

Listen to Opeth, unless you do already. Mikael Akerfeldt is truly an amazing guitarist and his solos might be the best i've ever heard.

I love how they play The Night and The Silent Water. Its one of Opeth's most amazing songs i think. When he announced it, right before they played, i got chills. All the other song choices were great as well. Demon of the Fall is godly live. DEMON!...DEMON OF THE FALLL!!!!!!!!!Haha. I'm suprised...
