How did you find you favorite bands?

Yep, King Crimson is another good one. I started with the same album. That guy Kyle recommended them to me, then I bought In The Court Of and Discipline.

How did you find you favorite bands?

As the title says. Ayreon - Back when I first got the program soulseek, one day I opened up my soulseek folder and saw that an Ayreon album, The Dream Sequencer Part 1 specifically, had been downloaded. I didn't remember telling it to, but I figured, it's here so I'll try it out. I listened...

Sorry, forgot to mention I use that one currently. I was looking for more Indy Rock and Jazz specifically.

    Best lyrics in death metal?

I don't recall stating Opeth was Death metal....but I do remember saying that some people, people I disagree with, classify them as DM, so I went ahead and mentioned them. Oh well, I'm not one who liked to argue over genres muchh, so fuck it. But yeah, a lot of Opeth lyrics are kind of gay...

Is Jean-Pierre the only one that doesn't like Opeth

There might be better bands than Opeth, but that doesn't mean you can't still enjoy what they do.

    Album Recommendation Thread

Death - Individual Thought Patterns (Progressive Death Metal) Death is another band that overstepped the bounderies that many bands of a genre fail to cross. This album is one of their most progressive sounding...it's such a different sound than their early albums like Leprosy and Scream...

What are your favorite progressive rock albums?

King Crimson - Discpiline Ayreon - Dream Sequencer Pt. 1 Ambeon - Fate Of A Dreamer (Yes, I'm an Arjen whore) Yes - The Yes Album Jethro Tull - Stormwatch (Something On The Move = catchiest flute ever) Gordian Knot - Selftitled (Goddamn I love this album, so mellow and relaxing while...

    Best lyrics in death metal?

Yeah, I generally do too, but Opeth actually pulled it off to my liking, which made me respect them even more. @ Profånity Why does using uncommon words to describe something Cannibal Corpse would write about make your lyrics intellectual? A 3rd grader can read a thesarus.

    Good Torrent Sites

Well, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to ask this here, but I've seen plenty of posts on how to use DC to get music and Soulseeek, so I figured it's alright. Does anyone know some good Bittorrent sites for downloading albums?

Is Jean-Pierre the only one that doesn't like Opeth

I prettymuch agree with you here, but there are other points I'd like to bring up in a second as well. For one, yeah, fuck a lot of Opeth fans. There's nothing wrong with appreciating good music, but becoming so obsessed witht hem you'd sacrifice your first born to them just for another...

    Best lyrics in death metal?

I honestly don't read up on lyrics too much and when I listen to a band I usually pay attention to the drumming and the riffs and how the whole song comes together. I look at how the vocals are delivered and implemented in the song more than what they are actually saying, if that makes sense...

Hmmmm...... Gordian Knot (Cool mellow instrumental stuff with some technicality to it) Spastic Ink (More schizophrenic than the above band, pretty cool shit, instrumental and technical too) Franz Ferdinand (Just picked up their album. Suprised that I actually liked it how much I did. Not...
