    MASTERING WITH WAVES PLUG-INS

Because Gclip´s a clipper and L2´s a limiter. Boosting the overall volume with Gglip preserves the original relations of different frequencies better than just slamming the L2. BUT you don´t want to go overboard with Gclip because it causes distortion, you shave of some peaks with L2, just a...

    SoundReplacer and stereo samples

Andy´s samples are stereo files. I think there´s some stereo room ambience in those files so using them in a mono channel isn´t the best option. I guess that drumagog supports stereo files, i´m not sure. Aptrigga does, that´s what I´m using. Some drum samples are in stereo because they include...

    Nuendo 4 announced!

Yeah maybe I should :) We´re getting a bit mixed with different topics here. I never stood up for steinberg in particular, I don´t even use Cubase nor Nuendo. I bet there´s a lot of evil shit steinberg´s done to justify getting a h2o-software. Being a Sonar user I´m really happy with Cakewalk´s...

    Nuendo 4 announced!

Bazzirliozzo: No that wasn´t for you. Sorry for the misunderstanding. You know co, most of the money is zeros and ones too, but let´s not go there. My point was that it´s at least disrespectful towards these people to talk big about using a pirate software. If it´s hypocrisy not to declare...

    Side chaining is the shit.

If I remember right, Andy sidechains the OH´s with a limiter, attack:1ms release:25ms or something like that?

snare recording experiment i did!!! try it!

Yeah, that´s the way it goes. The further you mic the snare the less you have proximity effect and the sound is brighter BUT you also get more bleed from the hats. 2cm doesn´t sound a bad distance though.

Divine Heresy (Dino Cazares new band) - New Song Online

Agree on the drums. There´s definately too much high-mids in my opinion, and it lacks balls soundwise too. The songs´s pretty cool still, nothing special though.

Using a computer live for drum triggers (software recomendation?)

Be a bit more specific, both of you. The triggers alone are MICROPHONES, so there´s no additional latency caused by them alone. BUT every drum sampling module has some kind of latency, and in live situations the mic/sample -phase problem can be solved by delaying the channel of Bass drum...

    Snare Attack Release Times

That´s new to me... I´ve always been told that the release should be longer than the attack. Fuck me. Anyway your attack/release times make sense for the faster stuff. Tried your settings and it sounded good :)

    Snare Attack Release Times

Usually I set the attack to 10-20ms, release ~100ms and ratio 2:1´ish.
