i lost interest once they went 'industrial'. APSOG had some decent moments but didn't care much for Disconnected and didn't like FWX at all. heck, they're not even a real band anymore. it's Jim and Ray and 3 session players.

just found out that IO USA is no longer (got absorbed by SPV). how is this going to affect the band if at all? they aren't listed as a featured artist on SPV's website.

not bad.. but they definitely sound a bit more metallish to my ears than Enchant does.

I was a big fan up to and including APSOG. their recent albums just don't do it for me. i first discovered them with No Exit, and bought each successive album when it came out. i agree with you on the post-NE period (Aresti, Alder, Zonder) - a period which i consider to be the classic era for...

i like some of the other stuff too but as far as ballads go, track 3 is more schmaltzy to me than anything else he's done. as far as the other stuff, i think both the title track and Arriving are OK but go on way too long. both would have been fine if shortened to about half the length. right...

listened to Deadwing like 4 times now and it still hasn't grabbed me. there's not enough of the nice pop melodies that Wilson is famous for (shesmovedon, trains, etc) and most songs i just don't like. still like In Absentia better.

i'm one (or at least was one) of the biggest FW fans around but i didn't like FWX at all. this whole new atmospheric thing they've been doing since Shade just doesn't appeal to me.:erk:

Ed.. is there something unique about the packaging of the new and improved version that distinguishes itself from the bad version??

i'm concerned about one thing.. do we know for sure that we'll receive the new fixed version from BB or Amazon?? Amazon has had the thing listed on their site for a while now without mention of a new one being on the way. :erk:

which of their previous albums would you favorably compare FWX to?? i preferred their 'middle' period (Aresti, Alder, Zonder). btw, CDUniverse has the CD for around $9..

a virtual tie between Trick and Wind but i give the edge to Wind because of One for the Vine. i liked most of ..And Then and parts of Duke but they were obviously on their way down at this point. didn't even bother with anything after Duke.:bah:

i originally liked Signals pretty well but Hold Your Fire blows everything else away. don't like the 90's stuff as much as the 80's stuff but Counterparts and Echo have their good points. hated Vapor Trails and Roll the Bones.

thanx for the tip.. although it wasn't clear whether or not laser had Wounded in stock, it was $3.50 less so i went ahead and cancelled the amazon order. i figure even if i have to wait anyway, it's still cheaper.:cool:
