Best and Worst Arranged Opeth Songs

Hmmm... I must say I really like the "randomness" in the arrangements on watershed, it gives the whole record an slightly awkward edge that makes it interesting, it doesn't work all the way though, dispite all the great riffs heir apparent doesn't flow well in my ears... BUT I must say that my...

Question for the more dedicated Opeth fans

I think that question can only be answered in Swedish: Ungefär vartannat - vart tredje år eller så.

    The bass on Watershed

Mendez basswork has blown me away so many times, but I think at Watershed he has some of his finest moments. You just can't beat that guy.

    Opeth fan demographics

I'm a 30 years old farmacology student from Sweden. I tend to think of atheism as a belief just like any other and therefor see no problem saying I'm 100% atheist, because it is what I believe in my heart. This does not mean I can't be wrong, though.

Watershed: Are you disapointed with it?

I think, actually, that watershed is the one Opeth record that intrested me the most, I don't know why, but it just didn't get me directly but kept promise me more, and delivered it. It has really become one of my all time favourites. I really thin the new members are great, especally Axe (who...

    The three growl-tracks on WS

I think the whole album is very good and flows very nice but I still feel that there is a wee bit too long between the growls in the second half of the record, but otherwise I don't think the growl/soft-ratio is a problem.

What is your SECOND favorite band?

A wee bir surprised that so many have the same references outside Opeth, I would have thought that they draw a much more deverce audience... Personally I would never be able to choose just one band like that, but Helmet, Primus and Nasum is three bands that I really, really love beside Opeth.

Introduce Yourself - the n00b thread

Hello everyone, I have been sneaking around this forum for a couple of months now and have finally joined it. I discovered Opeth with blackwater park but got renewed interest in them with ghost reveries. I find their work to get better by every release and do find Watershed to be their most...

Why does Orchid never get any love?

I must say that I do find Orchid to be the best of the three first albums, but it took me quite a while to get used to the voice Mikael uses on both this and Morningrise. I find the songs to be stronger on this album then on both Morningrise and MAYH. I recently bought the japan-box with these...
