yeah i agree about the off topic thread removal being a terrible move.. you need more options on a bands message board these days to keep peoples interest and attention, i mean it would ultimately create more traffic on this site, so that is good for band, regardless if the discussion is off...

So I have been a big fan of opeth since still life and have seen them on tour around 5 times beginning when blackwater park was released.. and i have to say with exception of perhaps the first show, I am always so dissapointed with the sound quality. What is the deal!! its always far too quiet...

i agree that from a fans perspective, The double album release wouldve been "cooler" but it does make sense the way they did it, and i dont think mike or the band really care...and i wouldnt say that releasing damnation later has stripped it of its qualities by any means, i think its sweet. but...

whatever man...two things to say... paradise lost is terrible and tool is much better then king crimson ever was, although i know they are a highly influential band...

haha downfall, i mean thats just my opinion brotha...the fact is though, that every song they played sounded the same...generic pop aint my thing...but im glad you like it. anyhow if seeing paradise lost in concert is one of the best shows you've seen, than i truly feel bad for you.

ya know what im sorry paradise lost is really bad..how influential they are, i dont care...i dont listen to goth music...or most doom metal, opeth is where i stop...they walked through their set...they didnt even get into it at all. every song sounded the same. it was not pleasing on the ears...

definitely some weird characters at the show... i was cackling to myself all night, some of the opeth trolls are out of hand haha

yeah ya know i happen to know a pretty good amount about mixing and sound...and i hear far better sound in the local detroit rock scene than i do with Opeth...theyre an extremely high class band...and therefore deserve a high class recording engineer, period.

id buy blackwater park as a first cd, then get deliverance and still life..those 3 are the best in my opinion...granted i bet some will disgree
