"Satan" was made to condemn pagan priests to try stop the rebirth of pagan religeons.........classic image of satan "horns...hooves....limp.... beard"; Firstly the unforgetable horns were really the horned ornamated helmets worn by some pagan priests(believed to represent goats that were sacrificed to Thor as it was him who carried around by goats and feasted on them in time of need etc), the hooves and limp have similar explinations; a sacrifice to Fenir. A pagan priest would stick his foot in a lower jaw of a wolf then tear its upper jaw off as sacrifice. Obviously doing this would damage the preist's fooot; and so the priest would at times wear a special shoe(called *hooves( by the church) and would build up a limp from the sore foot. Lastly the beard image was to dissapprove thr growth of long hair and beard; which was obviously the main classic look of pagans as it stil is now. I wont explain the trident as it is to do with the greek pagan god posieden which i am more unfamiliar with.

The goat face satan was 'invented' in the later years of christianity and it has nothing to do with pagan priest or whatever, dont forget that the orthodox christians have long beards and long hair, wear black and look like hell. Also im a pagan and i shave everyday and some pagans i know,older than me, none of them have beards.

i did not say goats face i stated *horns* yes the full image of the completes goats head was created later.....................................if want to get even more technical the *orthodox chirtians* also believe satan has one eye of sort which he feeds precious metals underground, this said now; is to teach christian kids to not be greedy, but originally was to try stop wavering pagans from piliging catholic churches(even though most of loot stolen was sacrificed to pagan gods) so the church used satan to portray pagans as being satan like for piliging
