You were worried because you thought I was shallow enough to change my opinions of you based on this one little debate.
However, I don't believe for one second that one person doesn't have the ability to help save the rain forests.
Indeed it's the mentality that nobody can help that contributes to everyone saying "bugger it, not my responsibility".
oh won't you just finally shut the fuck up and stop trying to be cool?
depending on the demographics, regions, business cultures, trends, marketing campaigns, lifestyles and choices, sometimes people have no choices where they want to work.
if youre in the service industry and live in the middle of nowhere, you have little choice outside of driving 230 miles a day to somewhere better.
retail is 67 percent of the u.s. workforce. without supply and demand, without competition the system would crumble. i wouldnt want to live in a world without choices.
thats part of the beauty of free trade and business. the ability to choose as consumers. yes walmart has cheaper prices than some other retailers, yes they treat their workers like shit, yes they have a lot of stuff. but for the people in rural areas, there isn't a lot of other retailer options.
im proud to work in retail. i make a lot of money doing what i like to do. i honestly have no qualms about management, because it's just a natural extension of the business cycle.
i work over 35+ people in my area, and have never had any complaints over the way i run my team.
so in summation, the people dogging retail should try before they assume.

It's my advice to you to stop being so "holier than thou". It's people with that mentality that I can't stand.

jesus. I'm not the one that said that WalMart was destroying the economy. I'm FOR retail. Apparently there has been some news where WalMart employers aren't treating their customers properly. That is what I made my "it's their fault for working there" reference to.
