I just got my new LP studio set up, so I did a clip with it.

Needs lots of fills, transitions etc but I'm really happy with the articulation on some busy riffs.

80s Les Paul Studio (stock)
Maxon OD9 (sorta 80s, haha)
50 watt JCM800 (1983)
Home made cab loaded with vintage g12t-75's
SM57

Triple tracked and in standard E.

The intro riff is palm muted pull offs on the E A D string. Really tricky to record as it is nearly all muted but I think the JCM800 really came into its own.

It's the first proper guitar clip I recorded in my ISO/vocal booth.

Bloody love that thing.

Heard a JCM900 last night that reallllly made me want one. And I'm really not a Marshall fan at all.....

What I like is how you can't go wrong with it. Live they sound good unmic'd, SM57's love them, they work well with v30's and 75's etc.

The only drag is how limited mine is, one channel, no loop etc. So it can get samey.
