...

"Teh" is okay because it can be pronounced, as is the original spelling of owned (and the one with the zero, which is exactly the same)

pwned is a problem. Whenever I see it I hear something like 'pew-nd' in my head. Maybe I need to have it examined.

Speaking of pronouncing things: how do you say www? Doubleyoudoubleyoudoubleyou? Triple Dubya? Dubdubdub? Whuuuuuuwww?

its funny cos "world wide web" is shorter than doubleyoudoubleyoudoubleyou.

anyway, back to my essay :D

Somehoe I forgot about that one. Yes, it's shorter. But it also sounds kinda out of place (seeing as how the www in adresses is usually just to point you to the http server (if there's something else on that address))

pwned= PWHn-d (sorta)
and I pronounce it doubleyoudoubleyoudoubleyou, but sometimes wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwh when I feel like being an ass. I have also known people to say dubya... and dub..., dub being, by far, the weirdest...

Close, but not quite... Actually, the http in the address points you to the http server, not the www... The www is just something the http server uses to point it to the right directory (sorta...not exactly)... That's why you can have:
http://www.somethingorother.com
http://somedude.somethingorother.com
http://someotherdude.somethingorother.com
all on the same http server...

:lol: man you make yourself look like such an ass. just because you are "the only one" frustrated with this slang means you have a life? You live in Seattle man; theres nothing over there. how can you possibly have a life? :p (no, im busting your chops; ive lived in seattle for a bit and its cool, but still... :p)

Look, the first time i ever heard "noob", i new right away that people meant "new." I just thought that people spelt it wrong, but i caught on quick. Saying that you have NO idea whatsoever in the meaning of "noob" or "pron" makes it hard to picture you with a healthy mental process. Must be because of the cloudy weather up there? :loco:

and the thing about you "[coming] here to talk about music, not gossip about people [...] [bla bla bla]:"

THIS IS THE OFF-TOPIC SECTION.
If you're so great with the real English language, why can't you understand those two underlined words? :Smug:
Also, with a temper like that I can hardly believe you have real life friends. :lol:

Again, im just busting your chops.:D
Spike, I think you signed on the wrong account. your username is supposed to be Spike, not KielbasaSausage. All those smilies... all that vBCode... the eccentricity... :erk:

n00b = newbie (new person)
pwned = owned (typo made popular by an online game: Counterstrike I believe)
uber = (prefix) means "super" in German and is used by english speakers as slang.
pr0n = disguised version of the word porn. Think college students/professors etc that don't want to be caught with illegal material on their PCs and be banned from the internet/fired. :) more info

I said usually. The prefix can also point to different sites, on the same server.

Come to think of it, www isn't even required. I know some place where if you go to: somesite.com it returns a page saying "go to www.somesite.com, I am a bastard."
