12/8 timing...

Haha. I didn't know there were so many into time signatures when I posted this ;) This is FUN I tell you!

Lina... well. hm.. I still see it as 12/8. and you can't change it! *lol* I just don't get why it wouldn't be 12/8? Dammit. I'm taking the song to my oldschool and ask my guitarteacher. He is a master at timings... I WILL WIN! ;) *too much coca-cola in my veins*

I'm a Guitarist ,, i've took many music classes ,,, I play in two bands,,,,, I read alot of music and know a fair bit about it ,, but I don't have a clue about time signatures , when I need to know about them I'll learn , I can learn anything if I want to ,, it's a skill i've been born with ,,,,, many people can't do that ,, but so far ,, i've done something that i've never thought I could and only realized it when people started telling me ,, and that is that I can Sing ,,,,,,,,, weird !

If you said to me ,, learn to play piano and I wanted to , ,,, then next day guarenteed I'd be able to play a song or two perfectly ,,,, if I can't do something it;'s only because I don't want to ..

I've played guitar for eleven years, and have studied classical music and styles for five...

Time signatures aren't hard at all... just count:

5/4 = ONE two three four five ONE two three four five (...different if you have more accents, it might be ONE two THREE four five, or ONE two three FOUR five)

6/8 = ONE two three FOUR five six, ONE two three FOUR five six

3/4= ONE two three, ONE two three

9/8= ONE two three four FIVE six seven eight nine (or differently with different accents...!)

easy shit... EASY!!

Yeah. time signatures is easy... but they can be hard to hear if the band has backbeats and play alot between the accents... like. to hear the time signaterus meshuggah use are DAMN hard... ie 9/16, 9/16, 9/16 & 5/16..this all fits over two 4/4 and there you even go into polyrythmics.
