I just asked you to name your favorite Immolation album, and you failed!Funeral Portrait said:No one asked me for an intelligent answer. Therefore I was able to bitch all I want.![]()
I thank you, sir.Erik said:That was a spectacular display of utter pwnage. I tip my hat to you, sir.
Thanks SoD, I respect that response. I still like 'em thoughShadowOfDeath said:I dislike Dying Fetus because of the lack of songwriting and creativity. After you listen to a bunch of VA compilations and promos and singles and shit from new band after band after band you realize how poor music is becoming. I don't mean to stray off topic but usually when a label punches out a V/A compilation of their top bands for $8 i end up buying them. I bought a $6 double disk relapse compilation with a dying fetus song on it. To be honest it lacked all originality and any form of good song writing. If dying fetus was a cannibal corpse or 'old school deicide' clone i'd probably enjoy them more, but they follow the generic horrid songwriting of today's "brutal" death metal.

Surprisingly, I don't really have anything against Dying Fetus. They're not really my cup of tea or shot of Jack or what have you, but they're good at what they do, and are fun music for playing Halo and other such mayhem-and-explosions video games.
I have to agree with Spirit in Black on this. When you take-in the vast spectrum of brutal and/or grinding DM, Dying Fetus are definately in the more distinctive echelon of the bands around. I think their riffs are, bar none, all kickass, and that stands-out in a genre that likes to hide non-existent riffing under constant blasts. The dual vocals aren't very common, and, well, I think the songwriting is actually strong and consistent throughout the entire discography. I have to direct naysayers to a studied listen of One Shot, One Kill, because that is a perfect example of how Dying Fetus are still composing really strong material.ShadowOfDeath said:I dislike Dying Fetus because of the lack of songwriting and creativity.
