Yeah, I think I've said this to him already. When they WORK, they're the same... but anything that isn't running a TI chipset is going to be risky.

...especially since you are the ONLY one I've heard saying this. I'm not gonna trust it, at least until Apple says it. You'd think they would take pride in something like that.

Apple might have created firewire, but there are many different chipsets out there and TIs are probably the most recommended and trusted chipsets. I went through two computers with issues only to find out it was the firewire card. Spent maybe $30 on a Belkin w/ TI chip and my 3 firepods finally all worked together (prior could only get 2 to sync)
