So, what has everyone been listening to this year? Truly, it has been a slow year for a ton of genres and such.

My top for 2009 as released so far are...

I don't see the point of Alice In Chains without Staley, and I've always hated Pearl Jam.
My top so far are:

If These Trees Could Talk - Above the Earth, Below the Sky
Thursday - Common Existence
Pulling Teeth - Paranoid Delusions/Paradise Illusions

Been listening to more old stuff than new but I got an email last night saying Brendan Perry's new solo album "Ark" is going to be released in the fall. This will conquer all for me.

Good list, especially The Mastodon and Mono new releases. I would add, The June Frost--Mournful Congregation, Gin--Cobalt, Blut aus Nord--Memoria Dialogue with the Stars and Death, Magic, Doom--Candlemass. A Forest of Stars and the new Amesouers I dig a lot as well.

I wasn't sure about Crack the Skye at first, but now I can't stop listening to it. It's such a different album for them, and in terms of the guitar work and atmosphere it provides, it's incredible.
I definitely have to pick up both of those albums on vinyl sometime, the artwork on both is awesome.
