They mostly come at night, mostly.

T2 is indeed a given.

Alien/s is a more subjective afair as far as I'm concerned......... The genre differences between the two can cause substantial deviations in preference at any given time. BOTH top notch, no doubt.

Indeed. Ridley Scott: at his finest. AND, what have we hear? Oh, it's James Cameron...at his finest! Different kettle of fish, albeit. To that end, though, I would personally cite 'Rocky 2' as being at least on par with its predecessor; though I'm sure plenty a critic would scoff at such a claim. As a continuation of the first film, I reckon it works splendidly - so much so, in fact, that I view it as being "Rocky: The Second Half Of The First Film", as opposed to, "The Next Movie In The Franchise". Of course sequels are supposed to link, but that's how strongly I feel about the strength of the second one.
In a similar sense, I enjoy 'Tremors 2: Aftershocks' just as much as the original; only the second one has more of an emphasis on the humour than suspense, and the first vice versa.

Having said that, the original 'Dirty Harry', 'Jaws' and - arguably - 'Die Hard' will always follow suit to the original and best claim.

pretty good movie. The Real Neal would never commit suicide over Shakespeare though.

Then the Real Neal probably knows that it wasn't about the Shakespeare, specifically, rather what it represented and what the script-writers wanted it to symbolise. Perry was a martyr in that movie, and as much as it is parodied, it's still very powerful.

Alien is definitely top notch. I just like the feel, and epic scale of aliens better. I see where you're coming from though.

I think that the reason originals are generally held in higher regard than sequels are because the first has more drive and passion, but when it does well at the box office, the producers rush to make a sequel for the money, and often a lot of it will just be rehashed ideas from the first.

Don't adopt ideas like "sequels are always better". Movies in general are hit and miss. This thread has degenerated into a subjective nightmare.

in the film....
with the creapy musak soundtrack, thought it was edgey - without coming over the radar like so many media filmz out there.

anyway, i was not bored!!!
like so many advised movies.

The Real Neal often acts boorish and ignorant for kicks. its funner to play the jerk that doesnt quite get it, and read the reactions from those that dont really get anything. (but i think you've already picked up on this. yous a smarty.):)
