it's not hard to believe that they're recorded and looped segments...I think it'd be quite a big pain in the ass to play everything just to reprogram everything but the snare.

Drums were never programmed, iirc you can hear varg go out of time very clearly at a few spots on burzum and det som engang var. I got the 128 rip until my copy arrives from amazon in march.

Fallen kills. And I hated Belus. Easily the best Metal I've heard since Beherit's Engram (owing in part to everyone from Iron Maiden to Autopsy disappointing me heavily). Proper comeback from the elder statesman, the clean vox and passages just give it more of a "Bergen" (think first Ulver atmosphere). The production is not as great as advertised (i.e. nowhere near as cool as "Hvis Lyset.."), but at least its decent, but this is some solid shit finally in a genre that seems to be losing it's course bad imho. Thank you mr.count.
