5150, 5150 ll or 6505??

I bought the 6505+ recentley (not to be confused with the 6505) so here's a rundown:

5150 = 6505
5150 II = 6505+

I personally prefer the 6505+ to the 6505 because it has a seperate EQ for each channel. For me that's an essential feature. Apparently the 6505 has more gain, but trust me, you won't need it, the 6505+ has way more than enough gain, especially if you're using active EMGs and a tube screamer in front.

I highly recommend using a Mesa cabinet with it. It's a very happy combination!

Thanks Shane! Narrowed it down to the 5150 ll or 6505 +. Looking for the killer deal now. Ebay has the 5150, but I cant find a 5150 ll or 6505 yet. I'll keep looking did you order your from the facoty??

I ordered through the local music store. Peavey at the time was having trouble keeping up with demand so it took nearly 2 months to get the amp.

I prefere the 5150, has a bit more low end, more compact sound in my opinions, but the 5150 II sounds good to. If you are using it on stage the seperate eq is nice.

Ebay!? I would have went for that right away

Nah, from a friend who lives down in Florida. He bought it for $650 shipped, decided he didn't need it, so he sold it to me for $600. :) It's a block letter model too. They sound the same as the signature models, but they look cooler IMO.
