5150II vs Cobra

Hi guys, I made a clip with quadtracked guitars, and reamp with a 5150II and a Cobra.
What clip do you like and why?

which clip is which amp? I'm assuming the Cobra is the 2nd. It sounds a little more scooped and dry.

I like the aggressiveness of the upper mids/highs of the first clip, but the second sounds nice and tight.


Both together sounds best to me...

My guess is still the Cobra 2nd, 5150II first, but who knows. The difference isn't huge IMO. I like the blended clip the best though, regardless of what it is.

I love it!!

Cobra is the second one, it has that low mid growl.

I agree on both amps blended > separate

I do, but now I think you're gonna say it's the 5150II.

Either way, on their own I'd choose that one, but I like the blended clip better.

If you come out of left field with a "HAHA! It's a POD" line, I'm gonna be mad.

I think the 2nd amp is the 5150 II.
I've never used a cobra before but I think its the 1st amp, its got a subtle 'snarling' sound to it. The 2nd amp has a bit of 'sizzle' to it. But to be honest both clips sound quite similar.

They both have an overabundance of mids in I wanna say the 700 range or so, which is kind of annoying, but I prefer 1 because the second is a bit more scooped (in a different range of the mids )/fizzy, leading me to believe it's the Cobra

The second clip sounds more Cobra-ish than the first one.
All 3 clips sound really good.

I'd go for the blend in the end.

I think so. 5150 II's are more aggressive in the high-mids generally. At least this is what I'm hearing.

Ok! The first clip is the Cobra, The second the mighty 5150II green channel.
Metaltastic: I Don't Know why I have to much mids, probably is the guitar....in the first clip ( the cobra ) I use the crunch channela with mids at 11:00, and for the second I turn the mids of the peavey at 2.....I think the mesa cab is full of mids.
