Is there anyone here knows who knows if there is any deeper meaning behind :.:: ? You know, that symbol which appears on several places on the Haven booklet, and on the CD itself...

i cant remember if we ever got to the bottom of it...personally, i think its pretty simple - :.:: looks like a h and a n. as in HaveN?? failing that it might be something deeper like the arrangment of dots that isnt quite consistent - cos ones missing - but why?

damn, I had so clear that it was a SIX, you know a simple pointed 6 as Haven it's their sixth official release not counting of course the demos and enter suicidal angels which is nothing more than zod.light single...

not a bad idea, but why count 'of chaos' and not 'enter suicidal angels'? or better yet, just the full-lenght albums?
i vaguely feel that those dots are related to 'haven' as a word, but have no idea what the link might actually be.
braille was an interesting thought, what with 'indefferent suns' and everything. but it's a well known fact that you can play with numbers and words with any result at all.

well actually Of Chaos is and mcd, which is a normal release, it's not linked directly with any other release even though it contains alone, but this time is '94 so I count it as RELEASE. As I said I don't count Enter Suicidal because it's a single cd, it comes from Mind's I session, so it has to something to do directly with that record...it's just that....

I've tried it with the font Braile and at least letter by letter :.:: doesn't mean have actually. But may be this font just displays the letters and maybe the word "haven" it's written like that....

In braille it would actually mean 'HG' or something... And I don't think that really makes a lot of sense...

wow. i didn't know ya had it in ya. your story sort of reminds me of that bit from the Monty Python movie when the knights are searching for the Grail and at one point you see "the artist" (Terry Gilliam) suffer a sudden heart attack and fall over dead in his chair

when it was brought up in the old forum I recall someone saying that the seven dots is a symbol for "human" (two legs, two arms, one torso, one head and one soul = seven) and the broken pattern meaning imperfection. if that's the correct term.. not perfect. get it? I don't know wether that's more true than anything else, but that's how I've interpretated it.. I have the symbol inked on to my arm and I tell you - quite a few have asked me of it's meaning. I've grown very sick of the question, and started with a simple "It means what you want it to mean." which probably is the best answer of the question, no matter who asks it.

well morse code is very unlikely, as it consists of .'s and -'s... Only a few letters can be made with only .'s, so this is likely not it...
Braille is probably not the key to the solution either, though :.:: means something like HG in braille (whatever that may be)...
Probably it's just one of the well kept secrets of Dark Tranquillity, which noone really knows except for the band members... If Niklas wanted us to know the meaning, he would have told us that here already, wouldn't he?
