5th band for Ranarokkr: OZ

My comment was a reference to OZ......

Anyhow. Well done. This booking has gained you a new customer in my older brother who is an OZ fan from way back in the day. That's exactly what you hope for with a booking like this.

Well can't see anything in the U.S. short of a heay Load reunion show or someone booking Warlord topping this, and I doubt either of those two will happen.
Maybe a real Grim Reaper reunion would be cool...
Seriously though this is a really cool band to get.

I agree. There have been a few who said that it isnt a huge thing. They are crazy. The other bands were talked about as well but budget cuts. Thanks Obama.

Not sure what Obama has to do with metal festivals but you righties have a nack for stretching things. HAHA
Seriously those who don't think Oz would be a big deal just have no idea. Still not sure what the would do in the U.S. but guess we'll see.

I must be clueless because I didn't think Oz were that big of a deal. They're a cool band but I never hear anyone talking about how much they like them. I had no idea this was a top band everyone wanted to see.

well it is a band no one thought would ever hit US shores. While not a huge selling band it is a band with the energy to do a great show.

This.
That's what makes a festival a festival.
Seeing bands you otherwise could not see.

OR even better, bands that you wouldn't even initially think of that would be good for the fest. This is where OZ fits in for me.

Heck, for the past two years, they never even came up.
Though now that they have been booked, I've got "Fire in the brain"!!!

They were one of the bigger Scandinavean (Sp??) bands in the 80s.
I knew them because my brother was a big fan.
Their albums were heavily advertised, being on the COMBAT label.
Their sound does not really match their image.
It is heavy, but also rockin just as much.
Should be great to see live.
As I said before, I don't think its going to mean much to younger metal fans.
It's going to be a booking that's going to capture the attention of older metalheads who aren't familiar with newer bands.

As long as it didn't break the bank, I think its a great booking.
