In Chicago? At the Stone Pony? Great White played there a week before this fire and used pyros without permission too. They were the lucky ones.
The building was grandfathered as the fire chief called it. Being built so long ago, they're excused from normal fire code standards. How is that safe/a wise choice? Has anyone ever seen sprinklers at the Worcester Palladium by any chance?
Another way of looking at it would be, do you trust "the station (or wherever you are)" with your life. You're trusting that you'll be able to go into this place with a whole bunch of others and you'll all come out safe and sound. As a conscious adult, ask yourself do you trust them?
But, nobody wants to do that. That (being cautious) takes all the fun out of things....or so I'm told.
