-7 db rms without clipping

Ozone is great, but sometimes it makes the mix sound very very harsh in a strange way. Maybe it's the harmonic exciter in the top frequencies. It sneaks up on you, and suddenly there's way too much even with modest settings.

If been using Ozone's maximizer for quite a while. It's funny that once Joey said he uses Ozone a lot of people said it rocks but a year or two ago most people were saying it's a piece of crap :Saint:

Exactly dude, all people on here were bashing it!
Anyway the old version (4 to 5 years ago) I tested sucked so much. maybe they improved it now, who knows I don't own a copy!

I still don't like it, as a whole. The limiter is great, but I'd rather have it as a seperate plugin and with a cleaner interface.

ozone blows ass when people treat it like nothing more than a laundry list of presets...but if/when you dig in and really fuck around with it, it's much more capable than a lot of people give it credit for

I don't even wanna listen to the pancake that is -7db rms ...

Just the other day I told my keyboardist that my last album ranges -15db rms and -12db rms and that since the release in October not ONE person (listener, journalist, DJ, clubowner) has ever complained. I actually got a lot of compliments for the good sound ...

I had ozone but I hated this fucker and sold it!!!!!!!!!!!
Dont know how "good" the new version is, but I´m fine with my waves platinum bundle.

I´ve achieved -7dB rms with waves LMB waves V2 (the new maximizer)
and the logic adaptive limiter.
Sounded terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!No clipping but also NO BALLS, NO EMOTION, Nothing!!!!!!!!

The next records I´ll master too, gonna be max. between -10 dB rms and -15 dB rms

But joeys stuff sounding great!!!!

i think its just a accomplishment in theory. i dont really feel like getting a master to that level is a good thing in the real world.

i wish i could have mastered the new prada album at -10 because there are some parts that are so dense, and hotter masters blur that. i did manage to keep it around -8 and -9 without much fuss. i like the result, but there are some parts i wish i could bring the fans into the studio and show them exactley whats going on haha, there's a lot of material laced in there.

at any rate, i think people should strive for -10 and try to stay there.

I've got up to -4RMS before, with some interesting clipping..

Cleanest was around -5.5RMS, and after that I just can't see a way of getting it louder.

That was done as an experiment,.. I don't ever master stuff, and if I do - it goes to -10 and stays there (or goes over!!!).

I hate loud records.

I was listening to the latest Bleeding Through (Devy mixed) which is very loud and then too my suprise when i listened to the new cannibal corpse found it was considerably quieter (i haven't checked the waveform to see how crusher it is but....) FWIW...
