So I purchased this album at ProgPower and it is completely destroying me - haven't stopped listening to it all day. :headbang:

It's like a more powery Dream Theatre and this album in particular is like a different take on "Scenes from a Memory." I cannot imagine anyone who likes DT not falling completely in love with this CD.

Damn Glenn, thanks for finding yet another amazing band for me to get excited about for next year as if Kamelot, Stormwarrior, Tyr and HammerFall weren't enough! These guys are amazing.

They were in the PPIX sampler last year, I heard that one song, and ordered everything I could get my hands on.

From then I have been pushing to get them at ProgPower.

Thanks, Glenn..

As someone suggested to me, if you like SW, check out Killing Touch.

I have had the disk for a year and still spin it at least once or twice a week, I never get tired of it.

I've loved Seventh Wonder since probably '06 when a friend turned me on to them, & Mercy Falls is one of my favorite cds ever. Can't wait to see them next year! :D

Mercy Falls is good, but the story kind of sucks. It does have some killer tunes, but the filler and goofy story hurt the overall package. I agree with Ascension ... Waiting In The Wings is their best disc by a pretty good margin. One thing that can't be disputed ... the singer is awesome.

What everyone else said.

I've been nuts for this band since my first spin of Waiting in the Wings, and now with Mercy Falls, they've even stepped up the emotion level for me. It's to the point now where I have trouble listening to anything else, because I almost never enjoy the experience as much as listening to Seventh Wonder (only SLIGHT exaggeration).

But I'm not complaining.

And with one more disc before the next ProgPower, they're going to be the monster hit of the festival next year, mark my words. They DESERVE to have a headlining set, at least time wise, but I understand why they don't, THIS TIME anyway. :)

It's going to be a really good time next year........

Oh c'mon man, the story is downright screwy if you think about it ;) I don't want to throw out any spoilers, or I'd go into detail.

Britt

They're from way over there, trying to write stories (songs) in a language other than their own. I'll give them a pass. Are there certain holes in the story maybe? Sure, but it's fiction, and I call it poetic license. Don't be so literal.

I liked the music a lot, and I'm looking forward to seeing them at PPEu, but Mercy Falls is conceptually very similar to The Human Equation, which bugs me a little bit.

The voice overs are a distraction. The singing is incredible. I'm a fan.

Eh. The voice overs are only in the album like 3x and except for one segment they're all contained outside of the actual songs. I don't even find them that bad. I kind of like the segway in One Last Goodbye. Certainly no where near Invisible Circles level of annoyance.

Storywise outside of being confused by the exact age of the kid, I don't think there's any issues with it. As for "filler" I would think that means you think "Tears For A ..." songs are those but Tears For A Father is easily one of the top songs on the album and combined with A Day Away make up the best 5 and a half minutes of the entire album. I seriously hope they do those songs back to back when the play.

The STORY idea is fine. I think what the main problem someone would have would be the way it's expressed lyrically, rather than the actual idea itself.
