Ocean Machine is Devin's first solo project after the Vai "Sex and Religion" album. It's really cool. More of a progressive metal/hard rock sound.

I always did. I'm not really sure what disqualifies them. Even if you count out NIN because of all of the frequent melodic piano etc...... White Zombie was Surely Metal!?!? ..... but Tomato TomAto.

That is untill NuMetal, but even SOME of that was okay. Early KoRn was cool.

Motley Crue's album with John Corabi in '94 was (is) fantastic, really heavy. Corabi has a fantastic voice.

I also love Danzig 3rd and 4th albums, both are fantastic.
