The place where i did my masters in translation also had degrees in brewing and distilling, and industrial equipment, so making, tasting and rating beer would be your coursework for 3-4 years... after which you may or may not be a master but you'd have a piece of paper that says you should know what you're doing.

Of course, that's not the only way to learn, most learn by brewing, which is far more accessible.
