A newbie ampsim question...

Hi friends. I know this will sound like a stupid question. But... When to use an amp sim in stereo mode if I record for example 2 guitars panned 100% L and 100% R ? In wich environment must or will I use an amp sim in stereo mode ?

To record a centered solo for example ?

On a stereo bus receiving the hardpanned DI takes that you mentioned above. This way you only have to tweak one instance of the plugin for both tracks instead of having to copy the settings on two plugins everytime you change something.

Or on a mono source that you want a stereo fx, like stereo delay, reverb, stereo chorus, etc.

That is what I was thinking of. Thank you man. But using a bus I will get the same sound settings on both guitars. And usually all of us use maybe little different amp settings on each guitar to get a better mixed tone. You are right obviusly for stereo effects u will need the stereo mode.

You´re welcome. As "fak0u", I also don´t use different settings when doubletracking. Stereo mode on plugins is a big plus for me.

If you want different settings on each DI, then you wont be using the stereo option in the amp sim, just two separate instances
